Yummy Organic Almond Chocolate Milk
One morning, our children asked if they could have chocolate milk with their breakfast. I knew we didn’t have any milk on hand but decided that it would be a nice mid-week treat. In our case, we had to first make the almond milk (see another post on how to make it) then turn it into chocolate milk. Not the quickest way to get a cup of chocolate milk, but the children loved it even more because they helped making it. With the chocolate milk, we were also able to check off some potassium, fiber, and calcium off of their daily vitamin needs =) Win!
Measurements (double, triple or quadruple the recipe, depending on your family need):
- 32 oz organic almond milk
- 2 TBS + 1 tsp organic cocoa powder or carob powder (use less if you like the “milk chocolate” instead of the “dark chocolate” taste)
- 10-14 organic dates, depending on the sweetness your family enjoys
What did we do:
The children took turns, putting in the cocoa powder.
JAM took turns to put in the dates.
They measured 32 oz of almond milk to put into the blender.
We blended everything together. …then poured it in cups to drink and jar to store.
Messy level: Low (definitely a win in my book)!
